Link is the hero of the game. On his birthday, he noticed a strange marking, glowing on his hand. Worried about it, he went to Hyrule Castle to ask Impa. He then learns that it is his destiny to awaken the sleeping princess and restore peace to Hyrule. |

Princess Zelda
Princess Zelda is the beautiful princess of Hyrule, and she was the heir to the throne. Her brother, the prince, asks her the location of the Triforce shards, but Zelda refuses to tell him. Angry of his sister, the prince hires an evil wizard to make her tell him where they are. Because she refuses again, the evil wizard casts a magic spell on her that she will sleep eternally. Only someone with a just heart can awaken her. |

Impa
Impa is the nursmaid living in Hyrule Castle. She has a very broad knowledge, and where she got them from is unknown. She is the one who revealed Link's destiny. She told him he needs to travel to six different palaces in Hyrule and the Great Palace in order to awake Princess Zelda. |

Prince of Hyrule
After the King of Hyrule died, the prince becomes over joyed as he was about to be king. He asked his sister Zelda about the whereabouts of the Triforce shards, and when she refused to tell him, she was beaten and tortured, and then put to sleep by his orders. Upon realizing his horrible actions later, he vowed that all of the daughters of the Royal Family should be named after Zelda. |

King of Hyrule
The King of Hyrule was a very loyal man to his people and lead Hyrule with peace and prosperity. Over time he fell ill and was about to die. He told his daughter, Princess Zelda, that she should never tell anyone where the Triforce shards are, not even to her brother. |

Wizard
The Evil Wizard was hired by the Prince of Hyrule. He was told by the Prince to torture Zelda so she would tell the location of the Triforce shards. She always refused, and when she refused for the last time, the Wizard put her to an eternal sleep. After that, he was rarely seen in the game. |
