Golden Bugs

Agitha, the self-proclaimed princess of bugs, lives in Castle Town and is planning a grand ball for the insects of Hyrule. She wants you to find the 24 Golden Bugs: one male and one female of twelve different species. Golden Bugs glitter and make a soft chiming sound, which helps you find them. Some sit high on walls or trees, so the Gale Boomerang and Clawshot are useful for knocking them down or reaching them.

A note on versions: the Wii version (and Hero Mode in the Wii U HD version) is a mirror image of the GameCube and Wii U versions, so this page describes each bug by its landmarks rather than by compass direction.

Agitha's Rewards

  • Your first bug: the Big Wallet (600 Rupees on GameCube and Wii, 1,000 on Wii U).
  • Each bug after that: 50 Rupees, or 100 Rupees for the bug that completes a male and female pair.
  • All 24 bugs: the Giant Wallet (1,000 Rupees on GameCube and Wii, 2,000 on Wii U).
